August 2025 Store Updates
Hi friends,
We’re sharing a few important updates about what’s changing at Blue Violets, including adjustments to our store hours and our rewards program. We’ve also included a little background on why these changes are happening, because we always want to be transparent with you.
New Store Hours
First things first, we’ve heard the feedback and we’re happy to share that we’re changing our daily store hours to give you more flexibility during the week and weekends.
Starting Tuesday September 2nd, our open hours will be:
Tuesday through Sunday: 11AM - 9PM
Closed Mondays
This means we’re staying open one hour later every day, and we’re opening one hour earlier on the weekdays!
Whether you’re swinging by late morning, stopping in after work, or on your way to meet friends, we hope this gives you more opportunity to visit when it’s most convenient for you.
Updates to our Rewards Program
Next is our rewards program, which we know many of you love.
Importantly, we’re keeping most of the program the same: You’ll still earn 1 point for every $1 you spend, your points never expire, and you can continue to save and redeem your points whenever you choose. But we are making a few changes as well:
We’re consolidating our rewards tiers a bit; and
You can still earn “penny products,” but we’re tweaking the structure in a way that we think will be an improvement for both you and for us.
Without further adieu, here’s our new rewards tiers beginning Tuesday September 16:
125 points = $5 off
250 points = $10 off OR select from our 250 Point Penny Product choices (retail value $12-$19, options will be rotated)
500 points = $20 off OR select from our 500 Point Penny Product choices (retail value $20-$40, options will be rotated)
1000 Points = $40 off OR select any eighth of flower for a penny
So here’s the great part for you - under this new structure you’ll now have more options for awesome product-types for just a penny at both the 250 point and 500 point tiers! We’ll be curating a rotating selection of different products to choose from, like 2- and 5-pack pre-rolls, different edibles, different vape products, and much more.
The tradeoff is that you’ll no longer be able to choose any 1g pre-roll or half-gram distillate vape for the penny rewards like you can today. However, we promise to keep multiple options available at each tier and regular updates to the lineup, so if you don’t like the options available when you have points to use, just wait a little bit longer and something new will be available soon!
The Bigger Picture: Why We’re Making Changes
As many of you know, we are a tiny business. We - as in, Lauren and Max - created this store from scratch. And every day we’re supported by a small and mighty team. But right now, we’re up against two very big challenges.
First, the ongoing lawsuit against us is continuing to hit us pretty hard. We’ve been paying monthly legal fees for years just to survive, and now the lawsuit has been accepted by the New Jersey Supreme Court, so those legal bills will continue, and our business is still at risk.
Second, more and more dispensaries are opening in our area. We know competition is healthy and pushes us all to serve you better, but it also means reassessing where we can improve to protect our future and ensure we remain successful and healthy as a business.
Nonetheless, our mission remains the same: to serve this community with care, integrity, and education. We’re hoping these updates will allow us to continue doing that long-term.
We’ve built Blue Violets with care and intention, and we’re proud of the community we’ve built with so many of you. That’s why we’re being open about why these changes are happening and how they support our small business.
