Our terpene bouquet is designed to help you quickly spot your favorite terpenes on our menu.
If you love the citrusy snap of the terpene “limonene,” look for terpene bouquets that have its warm lemon yellow. If you love the cool, refreshing piney flavor of the terpene “pinene,” keep an eye out for bouquets with its deep conifer green

Our menu will include a color-coded terpene profile designed to help you quickly see which products have which terpenes (its “terpene bouquet”)
We’ll also conduct additional lab testing of our inventory, scoring the product based on those results and sharing the most recent data with you.
And finally, we’ll be tracking new research about cannabis and terpenes, sharing this information in our store and on our website so that you can be informed, too.

We are Hoboken’s only “micro” cannabis business. Locally owned and managed, no investors or faceless operators, we really are your neighbors.
Not only are we investing into Hoboken through tax revenue and our Host Community Agreement with the City, but our Community Impact Plan will see us earmark time and money for a number of community initiatives we’re most passionate about.

Like other essential oils, cannabis terpenes are “volatile.” This means if your cannabis is stored improperly, its terpenes will quickly evaporate.
At Blue Violets we’re taking extra steps to mitigate terpene evaporation in our inventory and to ensure the terpene date on our menu is as accurate as possible.

Alongside cannabinoids like THC and CBD, research suggests that different terpenes can help manage ailments such as pain and anxiety.
Terpenes may even play a role in the diverse effects experienced with each cannabis strain, known as the “entourage effect.”
Instead of using outdated categories like “sativa,” “indica,” or “hybrid,” by elevating cannabis terpenes on our menu we hope to offer our customers a better way to find their favorite products.
Our Founders
Hi, We’re Lauren & Max, Blue Violets’ co-founders and managers. We’re married college sweethearts, Weehawken residents, and professionals in highly-regulated fields starting fresh in cannabis.
We’re both patients in the New Jersey Medical Cannabis Program and have traveled the country together to experience the cannabis industry firsthand. We’ve learned a lot and hope it helps us create a great experience for you in our store.
We’ll be running the business and working the counter, so we’re looking forward to seeing you when you visit!

Lauren is our co-founder, CEO and front-of-store manager. Lauren has been a Registered Nurse for over a decade. She’s held critical care positions in two of the country’s “magnet” status hospitals, outpatient and home care roles, and was previously the sole School Nurse at an Upper West Side elementary school with over 800 students (where everyone knew her as “Nurse Lauren!”)
A coffee aficionado, bubble tea connoisseur, part-time yogi, and professional streaming binger, Lauren uses cannabis for her chronic pain, sleep, and general wellness.
Maxwell TS Thompson, Esq.
Co-Founder, COO
Max is our co-founder, COO and back-of-the-store manager. He’s also a lawyer and our resident nerd. After starting his legal career at a government agency he turned his focus to FinTech startups, advising some of the world’s most exciting disruptors. Max did most of the legal work for our store himself so if you want to learn more about the industry, he’s your guy!
Whether he’s discussing cannabis on reddit, attempting to play soccer somewhere along the Hudson river, or walking around town listening to new music on Spotify, Max uses cannabis for anxiety, appetite, and general wellness.
