BACKGROUND

Hi! This is Lauren & Max, we’re the Co-Founders & Managers of Blue Violets Dispensary. Welcome! We’re so glad you’re interested in joining our team. Have you heard about us? If not, let’s take a second to cover the highlights:

  • At Blue Violets our mission is to become one of New Jersey’s finest cannabis dispensaries through our focus on exceptional product quality, unique consumer education and positive community impact

  • We are Hoboken’s only “micro” dispensary (that means we’re small & locally-owned!)

  • We are a AAPI/Woman-owned business!

  • We believe that a focus on terpenes - the essential oils that give each cannabis strain its unique flavor and aroma - will help reintroduce cannabis to consumers, enabling them to find happiness, connection, and a new, sincere sense of wellbeing.

In fact, we’ve developed our entire retail experience around cannabis terpenes and cannabis education because we truly believe this is the way forward for cannabis. Haven’t seen it yet? Check out our menu at blueviolets.co/menu to see what we’re all about!

JOB OVERVIEW

As a micro cannabis business in New Jersey we are limited to 10 employees total.

With such a small team we’ll expect you to play a BIG role in helping us scale our business, our strategy, our brand, our community initiatives, and much more.

So while we don’t require prior experience working in the cannabis industry, we do require people who are passionate about cannabis, eager to learn, and hoping to jump head-first into this new and exciting industry by joining us on our mission to really enhance the “typical” dispensary experience.

We’ll all work the counter, we'll all greet customers at the reception window, and we’ll all help clean the store. But we’ll also get you involved in the projects that will both help our business succeed and help you grow as a professional.

Whether it’s helping with a new marketing campaign, researching products for our next order, helping with our compliance audits, or helping us develop and execute our next local community initiative, we’ll be sure to get you involved as we continue growing our small and mighty shop.

If this sounds like this could be the right role for you, let’s dive a little deeper into the different areas of our business so you can see what any given day might involve:

STORE FUNCTIONS & RELATED RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Greet customers at the reception window, verify IDs, and check customers into the queue

  • Conduct 1-on-1 customer transactions at the counter, providing information on products with a particular focus on terpene profiles, cannabinoids, potential wellness benefits, and your own experience with those products.

  • Operate the POS system and cash register, and handle transactions accurately.

  • Assist with tracking and managing inventory.

  • Help develop and implement in-store discounts and specials to enhance the customer experience.

  • Participate in ongoing training and research to deepen knowledge about cannabis.

  • Help maintain a clean and organized store environment.

  • Assist with marketing, social media and website/menu maintenance

  • Participate in community initiatives and events to promote Blue Violets.

  • Help foster a positive and motivating workplace culture.

  • Assist with ensuring all operations comply with local and state cannabis regulations.

  • Assist with regular compliance audits.

  • Help maintain store security protocols.

  • Help analyze market trends and customer feedback to drive growth.

  • Contribute ideas and feedback to improve store operations and customer experience.

By joining us at Blue Violets you’re not just taking on a job, but becoming an integral part of a close-knit team dedicated to redefining the cannabis retail experience. If you are passionate about cannabis and eager to grow with us, we want to hear from you!
