Animal Face is led by β-caryophyllene, the spicy, peppery terpene that is also found in black pepper and cloves. It is the only common terpene known to interact directly with the body's cannabinoid receptors, which is why it is often associated with a calm, body-centered kind of relief.
Myrcene follows closely, bringing earthy, musky notes reminiscent of ripe mango and hops. It is widely associated with relaxation and could help ease the body into a slower, more settled state.
Limonene adds a bright citrus lift. It is often linked with an uplifted, easygoing mood and may help balance the heavier, earthier tones of the profile.
Linalool rounds out the leading group with a soft floral, lavender-like quality. It is commonly associated with calming effects and may add to the overall sense of ease.
Alongside these sits α-humulene, which gives a woody, hoppy depth and is known for possibly suppressing appetite. A supporting cast of terpineol, α-pinene, fenchol, α-bisabolol (the soothing compound found in chamomile), borneol, β-pinene, camphene, terpinolene and β-eudesmol adds lilac, pine, herbal and camphor-like accents to the finish.
